Hawaii Kai Dog Walk
Aloha! Is anyone going to the Hawaii Kai Dog Walk in June? I was wondering if anyone went last year and what the walk for the "long course" is like. The website doesn't say anything but the distance. I wanted to know if much of it is on the sidewalk/pavement or if it's mostly on grass...if it's on cement, I'll have to bring Hilu's shoes so her paws don't burn!

We went on the "long course" last year and it was all on sidewalks. It's a loop around Hawaii Kai Drive and Kalanianole Hwy and back to the dog park. It takes 45min-1hr at a casual pace and isn't hot that early in the morning. It's good fun! Here's the course map.

Comment by Wendy Mah on June 2, 2009 at 2:43pm - I have not gone to any of their dog walks but I would think that the walk would cover some territory over concrete. It's early in the morning so I don't think the surface will be very hot and the walk should be over before the day gets too hot for dog or handler.
