Wendy
earned her Master’s degree in Animal Learning Psychology
at the University of Colorado at Boulder. She went on to work
directly with internationally renown Animal Behaviorist, Veterinarian
and founder of the Association of Professional Dog Trainers (APDT)
Dr. Ian Dunbar. She was the head of the Animal Behavior department
of the Peninsula Humane Society in San Mateo, CA. Wendy was the
very first Applied Animal Behaviorist as well as the first Certified
Pet Dog Trainer in the State of Hawaii.
Wendy has appeared on numerous local TV programs over her career.
She currently does a monthly segment on Channel 2’s “Take2”
morning news show. Wendy also co-hosted a radio show “People
and Pet’s in Paradise” with internationally recognized
holistic veterinarian Dr. Ihor Basko.
She has presented nationally and internationally to veterinarians,
dog trainers and the general dog fancier. She served 2 terms on
the Hawaii State Veterinary Examiners Board ending her second
term as Vise-Chairperson Veterinarian and founder of the Association
of Professional Dog Trainers (APDT) Dsecond term as Vise-Chairperson.
